Vision Restored after Stroke

A 55 y/o male was approximately 2 yrs post a right CVA presented with a list of impairments including "...left neglect, attention and memory deficits, severe decrease in executive function skills, paralysis of the left upper extremity..." After 6 months of physical therapy, drastic improvements were made which included the dissipation of the left field cut as well as return of normal reading ability.

"...it is critical for the therapist to explore vision as a tool for accessing brain rehabilitation. It is also important to not hold on to the ancient belief that a person will not continue to make large functional gains beyond the one year post-stroke period."
